Terms of Service
Effective 2026-10-22
Welcome to Homeschool AI. These Terms are an agreement between you and Fishhosting, LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we," "us"), which operates Homeschool AI at homeschool-ai.app (the "Service"). By creating or joining a family on the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Homeschool AI
- You must be 18 or older to create a family.
- A teen 13 or older may join a family only through an invite from a parent or guardian in that family, who is responsible for the teen's use.
- Children under 13 may not have their own sign-in. Parents manage younger students' records themselves. Please don't share your family's join code with a child under 13.
- A parent may set up a student device that shows a younger student their schedule. The child doesn't sign in, and the parent who sets it up is responsible for its use.
2. Your family account
The person who creates a family is responsible for it and for everyone they invite. Keep your sign-in secure and your join code private. You're responsible for activity in your family's account. Tell us at support@homeschool-ai.app if you think someone has accessed it without permission.
3. Your content
Everything you put into Homeschool AI (student records, curricula, lesson plans, grades, notes, and uploaded files) remains yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run the Service for your family. We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't use it for any other purpose.
Only upload material you have the right to use. If you upload a purchased curriculum, follow its publisher's license. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email us and we'll respond promptly.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- break the law or violate someone else's rights;
- upload malware, or try to access other families' data or our systems without permission;
- overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service, or get around its limits;
- resell or share access to the Service outside your family.
5. AI features and your role as teacher
Homeschool AI includes AI-assisted features, and it lets you connect your own AI assistant (such as Claude) through our MCP integration. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or not right for your child. You are the teacher. You decide what to teach and are responsible for reviewing anything the Service or an AI assistant suggests.
If you connect a third-party AI assistant, data you allow it to access is sent to that provider under your account with them and is governed by their terms, not ours.
6. Not legal or educational advice
State homeschool requirements, academic standards, and instructional-hour tracking are provided for convenience. They may be incomplete or out of date. You're responsible for meeting your state's homeschool laws. Check with your state or a homeschool legal organization when it matters.
7. Price and changes to the Service
The Service is currently free. We may add paid plans in the future. If we do, we'll tell you in advance, and nothing you've used for free will be charged without your agreement. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features or the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can request a copy of your data.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time. If a family admin uses Settings → Delete all my data, the family is scheduled for permanent deletion after 7 days, and any family admin can restore it until then. After 7 days the whole family is deleted, including everyone's sign-in accounts. If the last admin's account is closed, the family is scheduled for deletion the same way, and members can email support@homeschool-ai.app to restore it. Any other member can use Leave family and delete my account to close just their own, except while the family is scheduled for deletion. We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these Terms or puts the Service or other families at risk. We'll tell you why when it's reasonable to do so.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Fishhosting, LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or educational outcomes. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for your current subscription term, or, if that term is shorter than six months, the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim. While the Service is free, that amount is zero.
11. Indemnity
If your content or your violation of these Terms leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed.
